ROSANA! The Origin Story Anthology Now LIVE on Kickstarter

Origin Story Anthology will be raising funds on Kickstarter from July 11 to August 9 to print issues #1-4 of this action-packed, sci-fi-inspired comic about the titular superheroine’s fight to save her island and her family!
ROSANA! is created by a team of Indonesian artists and writers, led by writer, Jessica J. Ginting. What started as a self-published webcomic in 2019, ROSANA! has been featured over the years on ComicWatchHQ, The Brothers Geek Out Podcast, ComicCrush and the Comic Book Tour Guide Podcast. Now, this 80+ page Anthology will feature new and expanded pages from issues #3, #4 and the issue #5 preview – with added concept art, behind-the-scenes art and merchandise.
ROSANA! The Origin Story Anthology will explore the beginnings of Rosana’s adventure, which starts when her island receives a visit from a mysterious pilot, the first outsider in decades. The story is set in a post-apocalyptic future where very few people remain on Earth after the most successful fleet of space colonists left twenty years ago. Their departure was supposed to allow Earth to restore and replenish its ecosystems, but something has gone wrong – and Rosana is soon to find out about the space organisation’s nefarious plans for their surviving islands.
Artists featured in ROSANA! The Origin Story Anthology include: Bajingoo, Shaccharin, CurlyTsunamiArt (Issues #1, #2, #4) AnomalyBroccoli, Nugragente (Issue #3), Fruschia, Lunightic, Lala Narita (Issue #5). Jessica J. Ginting is also joined by co-writer Dena Igusti for Issue #5.
“We’re all very passionate about comics and telling stories that reflect our culture, so one of the aims of ROSANA! was to use it as an opportunity to build our own mythos from the ground up. I wanted to create a space for Indonesian artists and writers to be able to put their stamp on the character, the same way folktales and legends are shaped by the people who tell them over time,” Jessica says.
“You’ll see a variety of art styles which adds a richness and diversity to the worldbuilding. I really think there’s something for everyone in the comic – whether you’re an action, sci-fi, or adventure fan. There are even some slice-of-life moments in there with Rosana’s family, which are some of my favourite moments personally.”
