Crowdfunding plays a significant role in tabletop gaming, as it is the driving force behind the creation of many games. There are numerous platforms, including Kickstarter, Gamefound, Backerkit, and more. These platforms help bring plenty of different ideas to life, but crowdfunding has been a staple for a lot of publishers over time to make sure that they don't overprint the game, don't lose money on the game, or simply know there is interest from the general community to play their game.
Let's get to the nitty-gritty, though, and talk about three games that are expected to hit the crowdfunding market in September!
Kickstarter
Perennial
Type of Game: Set collection, tile placement, and hand management
Number of Players: 1-4
Age: 10+
Time to Play: 30-45 mins
Designer: Emily Vincent
Artist: Beth Sobel
Publisher: Flatout Games

If there is one thing that I would lead with regarding this game is that the art is completed by Beth Sobel, and I've yet to find a game that I don't like that she hasn't contributed on. The actual game, though, is very appealing, where you are trying to lay tiles to plant a lush, diverse, and beautiful prairie garden. The cover says all that I need to know to get me to follow the campaign.
The campaign goes on to talk about this being the crunchiest spatial puzzle that they might have created yet, which is interesting, as Flatout Games has had some interesting games that are simple but can be very thinky(Propolis, Cascasdia and Fit to Print to name some that I've played).

Gamefound
Forgotten Paths
Type of Game: Print and Play, Solo, Campaign, Dungeon Crawler
Number of Players: 1
Age: 10+

Time to Play: 45-60 mins
Designer: Myrto Gkizli and Spyros Kallos
Artist: Myrto Gkizli
If you haven't played a print-and-play board game before, this may be the one for those who enjoy character building, as there appears to be a very involved aspect of what a typical TTRPG character may work to build on throughout a typical campaign. This isn't something that I've ever done, or should I say done, as a campaign since I have done one-off TTRPGs before. Forgotten Paths does look like a game that would hit my table and I know others that are going to be interested in this one for sure!
The true icing on the cake is that this game is built for solo players and guess what, I do A LOT of solo gaming!

Gang Wars
Type of Game: Hand management, Area Majority, Economic and more
Number of Players: 1-4
Age: 14+
Time to Play: 60-90 mins
Designer: David Bernal & Toni Serradesanferm
Publisher: Redzen Games

Have you dove into the wonderful game Scarface 1920 before? Well, I hope that you haven't forgotten the Scarface world, as there is a new competitive deck-building and area-control game that allows you to lead a criminal gang fighting for dominance over Chicago's neighborhoods during Prohibition. The game is played over an easy four rounds, where the player with the most money, and is the richest gang boss, wins the game.
The cover alone has me craving more of what the game is about and is making me want to add it to my collection. You won't want to miss out on adding this one to your collection! Oh, and you can even add Scarface 1920 to your pledge if you missed out on that previously!
