Fanbase Press just recently announced Eisner & Harvey Awards-nominated series, Ripple Effects will be heading to Kickstarter!! This will feature a new foreword by Eisner-Winning Writer Gail Simone and an Art Gallery that pairs Superstar Artists Liana Kangas, Ray-Anthony Height, Don Aguillo, and Manuel Martinez with Youth Artists Who Have Invisible Disabilities and Illnesses. Ripple Effects has been nominated for some of the biggest awards in comics and on its 15th anniversary will now be GLAAD Media Award-winning publisher Fanbase Press' first-ever Kickstarter campaign.
This campaign will fund an expanded deluxe hardcover edition of the book, featuring all-new contributions from some of the biggest names in comics. What sets this series apart is a positive, person-first representation about life with a chronic disease . . . which just so happens to also include superhuman abilities. But, Ripple Effects isn't just a story about a character with an incurable disease. It’s also a thrilling and relevant superhero tale that touches on the difficulty of finding a work/life balance, the class struggles and economic inequality experienced by many in our nation, and the desire to help others during trying times.

In a world that is no stranger to superheroes, George Gibson is invulnerable to physical harm but fights every day to stay alive. Suffering from an acute case of type 1 diabetes, his invincibility is offset by a defective pancreas that must be monitored and treated daily. This incurable disease makes George's body both his greatest strength and his eternal weakness.
“40% of Americans have an incurable disease, some more lethal than others,” says Hart. “A superhero who struggles with medical bills, weekly doctor visits, and the anxiety of depending on daily, erratic treatments seems well overdue.”
Every issue contains an "Unseen Ripples" essay written by an individual with an invisible disability, relating to a specific scene in the series and how it speaks to their own lived experience. Issue #5 features an essay written by series creator/writer/colorist Jordan Hart regarding his experience with the incurable blood-clotting disease, thrombophilia.
Fanbase Press will be hosting a Whatnot livestream auction alongside David M.
