Creepshow Returns! (As a Comic Book Anthology)

Skybound Entertainment and Image Comics are about to bring back a horror classic to comics.

The house that the Walking Dead built is bringing Creepshow to the world of comic books. For those who don't know, Creepshow started off as a horror anthology film by legends George A. Romero and Stephen King. Multiple movies spun off to a short-lived TV series, and even a previous comic series.

Now, with that knowledge, comes a new 5-issue anthology series. The creative roster joining the Creepshow series includes Chris Burnham (Batman Inc.), Paul Dini (Batman: The Animated Series), Steve Langford (Creepshow TV series), Josh Malerman (Creepshow TV series, Bird Box), David & Maria Lapham (Stray Bullets), Steve Foxe (Razorblades: The Horror Magazine), John McCrea (Hitman), and Kelley Jones (Batman, The Sandman), with many more to be announced. Plus, Brian Witten is overseeing on behalf of Nictorero’s Monster Agency Productions.

"Growing up a fan of horror comics and Famous Monsters, I will never forget the thrill of seeing a new issue hit the stands...thumbing through the pages with the anticipation of diving into a dark twisted and outrageous world filled with ghouls, zombies and the classic come-uppence," said Greg Nicotero, director, writer, and executive producer of the Creepshow TV Series. “I’m very proud to see Creepshow find its rightful place on comic book shelves everywhere!”

Creepshow #1, with a main cover by Chris Burnham, will be available at  your local comic book shop and digital platforms including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, comiXology, and Google Play on Wednesday, September 21, 2022.
