Sneak Peeks & Stretch Goals: June Crowdfunding Projects to Get Excited About

Crowdfunding plays a significant role in tabletop gaming, as it is the driving force behind the creation of many games. There are numerous platforms, including Kickstarter, Gamefound, Backerkit, and more. These platforms help bring plenty of different ideas to life, but crowdfunding has been a staple for a lot of publishers over time to make sure that they don't overprint the game, don't lose money on the game, or simply know there is interest by the general community to play their game.
Let's get to the nitty-gritty, though, and talk about two games that are expected to hit the crowdfunding market in June!
Kickstarter
Crown & Courage
Type of Game: Deck, Bag, and Pool building, Solo/Solitaire Game, and Area Movement
Number of Players:Â 1
Age: 14+
Time to Play: 70-90 mins
Designer: Petter Schanke Olson
Artist: Jog Brogzin and Joeri Lefevre
Publisher: Tompet Games
Crown & Courage is a game in the solo/solitaire style that surrounds the theme of World War II. It follows a largely successful game in Halls of Hegra, a personal favorite of mine and in my top 20 games of all time.
Overall, it is a solitaire-only game, bringing clever, low-randomness Eurogame-inspired mechanisms together with a fresh, new perspective provided by the best wargamer traditions of illustrating history's unique challenges through evocative gameplay.

There are a lot of similarities between Halls of Hegra and Crown & Courage from the looks of it, but there are also enough differences to give a solo board gamer more than enough reason to give this game a shot for a pretty reasonable price for the physical copy of the game.
I highly recommend at least giving this game a read on the Kickstarter page before scrolling any further!

Let's Go! To France
Type of Game: Area Movement, Hand Management, End Game Bonuses, and Closed Drafting
Number of Players: 1-4Â
Age: 10+
Time to Play: 45-60 Mins
Designer: Josh Wood
Artist: Erica Ward
Publisher: Alderac Entertainment Group

The theme of the two games being highlighted this month on Kickstarter is sequels to previous games! The first of the series was Let's Go! To Japan, and one that I also backed when it hit Kickstarter. The second game in the series now allows travelers to head to France and explore Paris, soaking up art, history, and delicious food through its many tourist attractions and hidden gems.
There were a handful of people that I know that were able to demo the new version of the game at PAX Unplugged last year and had nothing but great things to say about this new location in the series. If you even enjoyed the first game ever so slightly, do look into adding this trip to France to your collection as well.
Follow the campaign that is already live on Kickstarter here!
