Cruisin' Crowdfunding 9/8-9/14

ree

Dragging my self away from this big script to get into this exciting week of crowdfunding comics. I am once again, Doug Wood. If you have some extra cash that week and want to support some creators, this will be a great way to help make comics a reality for a lot of newer or even experienced pros right now.

Additionally, I will be shouting out comics that are in the pre-launch phase on their platforms. Pre-launch is a huge period for creators. Not only does it show initial interest in the campaign, but it also allows the crowdfunding platform to identify campaigns that they will want to spotlight come time for launch. That is huge for campaigns as the algorithms can make it hard to find fresh books. If you have any interest in a book, please consider clicking to be notified of launch. Even if you don't have money at the time of launch, it helps enormously!

LIVE THIS WEEK!

Our blockbuster week kicks off with No Saints Nor Poets from Iolanda Zanfardino and Martina Belli. Issue 1 took Kickstarter by storm and issue 2 is looking to replicate that launch. This action-romance story delves into interesting character dynamics of a con-man and a straight lace driver (former priest).

ree

These pages are simply gorgeous. At time of writing this campaign has just kicked off, but are growing incredibly near their goal.

ree

Next up we have Sharp Eye, from the team that brought you Image Comics First Knife! Daniel Bensen and Artyom Trakhanov co-wrote this 48 page perfect bound stunner of a comic. Set two generations after the plot of First Eye this will be an easy entry point, but make any existing reader happy who was thirsty for more of this world.

ree

Artyom Trakhanov is rendering this world like no one else could and based on the action from his previous works, I know it will stay with me a long time after. At the time of writing, this book has passed it's goal.

ree

I Took A Hammer To Hell is getting collected in an impressive oversized hardcover format! Creators Matt Garvey and Mulele Jarvis extraordinary character driven action comic has been a delight to follow on Kickstarter. They are producing a very limited quantity of this massive comic.

ree

Muele Jarvis knows how to impress with his action sequences like none other! At the time of writing the campaign has funded and there are less than 150 books left.

COMING SOON!

Can't be a blockbuster week without me recommending at least one wrestling comic. With Mad Dog Morgan, Adam Lawson and Maxi Dall'o appear to be making the sickest horror graphic novel I have a need for in a long time. I can't do it justice with words, please look at this campaign page.

Benjamin Morse has the slickest art style and his comics are always a treat to read. So I cannot think of a comic I am more excited about than We Are Scarlet Twilight: Cobalt Crisis. A sort of Golden Age superheroes meets Crisis on Infinite Earths, but so much more!
