There was a US holiday weekend, so I know you missed some of that sweet sweet comic news. Don't worry, I got you! It's a shame I already did my Rey Mysterio intro because this week we have Lucha news! You know I am pumped about all things wrestling, but more importantly Lucha!!! So let's dive right in.
NEWS
Well look what we have here! Massive alongside Masked Republic are launching Luchaverse issue 1! Writers Marco Lopez, Ivan Plaza and artists Ben Harvey, Diego Simone are doing stories of warriors in the ring by day, monster hunters by night! This will star both Rey Mysterio Jr and Tinieblas Jr.
You know I am counting down the days till it in shops. Sadly the press release does not say when that is.
Mad Cave Studios is bringing Gatchman back. This series stars the titular Galactor, villain of cartoon. Written by Steve Orlando and drawn by Kath Lobo, the duo are using wrestling quotes to sell the book. I won't copy them here, but needless to say villains are more fun! After an attempt on their leaders life, Galactor's number 2 goes undercover to determine the enemy within!
Get at shops July 10th! And I don't usually say this, but peep those variant covers, holy smokies.
Did I already cover this? Mad Cave Studio imprint is launching more old children's cartoon revisited. This time its an ogn for Princess Gwenevere and the Jewel Riders. Creators Jordie Bellaire and Koi Carreon unite for the magic of female friendship. That's all the press release says.
I think this one is out in shops today.
Dark Horse Comics is bringing back Survival Street by James Asmus and Jim Festante. "This four-issue miniseries with standalone adventures is the exciting continuation of the original Survival Street series, packing an all-new punch in battles against A.I., soulless kids’ entertainment, American colonialism, and much more!"
I loved this duos The End Times of Bram and Ben so I know this will be great. In shops September 25.
Dynamite is launching The Powerpuff Girls for the brands 25th Anniversary. Join creators Kelly Thompson and a new artist every issue for their take on these wonderful characters. No word in the press release about what the book is about, but they really want to talk to you about covers.
Books in shop sometime in August!
We end things with Image Comics and their returning title C.O.W.L. 1964. This title is from creators Kyle Higgins and Rod Reis and brings the series into Higgins Massive Universe. 'It's 1964, and C.O.W.L.—the Chicago Organized Workers League, the world's first superhero labor union—is going national! But with the old team scattered and powerful forces moving in the shadows, will this union be busted before it gets off the ground?'
Shop it August 14th.
CROWDFUNDING
What's this? It's a book by me! Artist Armando Zanker and I have had the first issue complete for a couple of years now. I was unable to run a campaign due to my health, but now I am going to give this a go! The book follows a dark horse fighter who gained popularity being a bracket buster at the world tournament, until he was derailed. He is now offered one last chance at glory, but this time the fights are to the death! This comic is very inspired by fighting games and all the loser characters that we all loved.

Image Comics imprint Skybound is launching G.I. Joe Compendium. This has every issue of the original series and some extra series like the Special Missions and crossovers. I am a huge G.I. Joe fans so I am interested in taking a look. Only hope my wallet and shelves can handle it.
